Frequently Asked Questions

Please take a few minutes to look through our frequently asked questions. If you are still looking for an answer, we’d love to hear from you.

Mission

We collect new, unwrapped toys during November and December each year, and distribute those toys in Christmas gift bundles to children and youth in the Lethbridge area whose families need help at Christmas.

Q. Where is the LFS Angel Tree Toy Depot address?

108-920 2A Avenue North

Q. How are families eligible for Angel Tree?

We define families in need as follows:

  • Economic barriers

  • Recent change in income (i.e. loss of job)

  • Those families who will find Christmas too challenging this year and need assistance

Q. How do schools and other agencies refer families to Angel Tree?

Schools have two options:

1. Notify their families that they can self-register on our website.

  • Our website is secure and mobile-friendly.

  • Schools and social workers may assist families in applying themselves, but should not input any agency contact info in the form. The online application form is for individual families to apply themselves.

2. Schools and referral agencies may send lists Angel Tree directly and are responsible for delivering gift bundles to their families. To become a referring agency, please contact angeltree@lfsfamily.ca.

Q. What happens after I submit the form?

  • We crosscheck all names in a shared database with Interfaith Food Bank, Lethbridge Food Bank, Shop of Wonders, and Salvation Army.

  • Once you have applied for Angel Tree, you will receive a confirmation email. If a family has already signed up to receive toys from Shop of Wonders or Salvation Army, you will be notified.

  • Once your gift bundles are ready, we will call you for a delivery time or pick-up.

Q. Why do you have a shared database?

Christmas Hope is a five-organization collaboration that includes Lethbridge Food Bank, Interfaith Food Bank, the Salvation Army, Lethbridge Family Services Angel Tree, and My City Care Shop of Wonders. Christmas Hope organizations share one database so all families in need at Christmas receive help, without duplication of services. Learn more about the Christmas Hope partnership at www.christmashope.ca.
