Suicide Intervention Training

This training is designed to equip gatekeepers with the knowledge and skills to respond effectively and with care to individuals at risk of suicide.

Suicide Intervention Training Certification Process: The certification process occurs through two stages that certify participants over 6 years.

Suicide Intervention Training (SIT)

  • 2 days from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day with a 1-hour Break

  • Successful completion of the SIT 2-Day will certify a participant for 3 years 

Suicide Intervention Training Rapport, Assess and Plan (R.A.P.) Refresher

  • One day from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM with a 1-hour Break

  • Successful completion of the R.A.P. Refresher will certify a participant for an additional 3 years. 

To maintain certification, 3 Years after completing the R.A.P. Refresher, the SIT 2-Day is required to renew certification. 

Available to:

  • Gatekeepers- professionals, volunteers, individuals, and practicum students supporting at-risk populations.

  • Community groups.

  • Schools, colleges, universities.

  • Local organizations and businesses.

Suicide Intervention Training and Refreshers are available in person. 

Financial Investment:

  • Outreach and Education Services are delivered at no cost or subsidy based on funding and capacity. 

  • Counselling services are subsidized so fees will be discussed at the time of Intake. No person will be denied services based on financial hardship.
