Individual Counselling

Individual counselling is an informed and intentional therapeutic relationship between a counsellor and a client, personalized to meet the goals of the client. This counselling approach utilizes various modes of self-exploration, expression, and interventions to inspire and support the client to transform life’s struggles in a meaningful and sustainable way.

Counselling can support you by:

  • Gathering a better understanding and awareness of your feelings, thoughts, and behaviors.

  • Providing a confidential and non-judgmental space to communicate needs.

  • Decrease stressors or distress by identifying aspects of one’s life that they would like to maintain, as well as promote the development of new skills and knowledge.

  • Process trauma responses allowing for the facilitation of interpersonal transformation.

  • Enhances psychological well-being which can aid in the growth of all relationships.

Areas of Practice

Services can be provided to those experiencing difficulties with, but not limited to:

  • Trauma

  • Abuse

  • Sexual violence

  • Family violence

  • Grief and loss

  • Gender

  • Sexual orientation

  • Workplace concerns

Note: Individuals whose primary concern is addiction or disordered eating will be referred to specialized community services.

Available to:

  • Individuals age 3 to end of life

  • Individuals living within South-Zone West area 

  • Day and evening appointments are available.

  • In-person and online counselling is available.

Financial Investment

  • Counselling services are subsidized so fees will be discussed at the time of Intake. No person will be denied services based on financial hardship.
